Charlie's Farm

Madison is in love with Charlie's farm, and for her last week of summer freedom before school started, we made sure to stop by to pay the cows - and Charlie - a visit. 

This was Audrey's first trip, which happened to be a blisteringly hot day (my excuse for looking a little haggard). The heat and unexpected swarm of mosquitoes from the nearby river cut our visit shorter than expected, but Madison still thoroughly enjoyed herself. 

I can only assume Audrey had fun because she was her usual "all smiles" self.  She was pretty interested in checking out the cows eye to eye (despite the smell).  Thankfully (?) she graced us with a steaming diaper just before our barn visit....to prepare our noses for a full-on assault.

Poor Madison was absolutely eaten alive by the mosquitoes during a very brief trip to the river. We were hoping to see the running salmon, but we struck out in catching a glimpse of any jumping. From what I could tell, the bugs left Audrey alone. Maddy must be too sweet, because she had enough bites for all of us.
